Geek News- October

So a few pieces of news in Geek Land-

Michelle Batton has graciously let me stick around after my guest spot this month as a member of her Full Time CT- the girls over there are so fun, and Michelle is just a blast- the fact that her designs are tre cool is just an added bonus, I definitely am jazzed to be sticking around!

My stint as a guest CT for Amanda Carlson is over, and I want to thank her for having me for the month! Her stuff is so very fun, and I really enjoyed getting to work with it!

In October I'll be guesting with Brandy Designs (who I'll be doing a collab kit with sometime in the nearish future), The Design Girl, and Totally Twisted Scraps.

On a personal note- we are in the process of buying our first home (yay!) but that also means that I'll have less time to keep up with everything around here for a little while, we don't have an exact move date yet, but I'll likely go for a few days without internet access once the loan closes and the actual moving and packing process begins. I'm going to keep up with my commitment of a freebie every Tuesday, hopefully I won't miss one, but if I do, I'll be sure to make it up to you!

Also- I'm also joining Allison Pennington Designs CT- here are a few LO's I did with her fantabulous goodies, and if you haven't checked her out yet, you're going to want to! Just check out some of this awesome stuff!

This LO was done with Allison's 'Tweet' kit- I just love how soft and pretty this turned out!

(The ellies from this LO are actually from one of Amy Sumrall's retired kits 'Today and Everyday' the cool argyle paper is from Allison Pennington)

And here are just a few previews of Allison's awesome stuff for sale over at Polka Dot Plum!

Who wants to be a Sugar Plum like me??

It's so much fun CT'ing for Polka Dot Plum, if you're interested get your application in soon! It's a short call and expires in a few days!

Tuesday Freebie- Smooshed Penny Alpha

So I've been feeling totally inspired by county fairs lately, and I really love those machines you can put your penny into and pull the lever, and it squishes your homely little penny into some great design... and due to my strange inspiration, here you have my Smooshed Penny Alpha :) I thought it would be nice to have a good coppery freebie this week since fall is here and all those lovely warm colors just scream for some copper goodness. I'd love to see how you're using these! Link me up, I'll be sure to leave some love for ya :) Enjoy my sweets!4 Shared Download Link

This is one great example of why I love Amy Sumrall's stuff- a Mac and Cheese kit? Really? Awesome! It's actually a kit about love, so I had to create this:

Mac n' Cheese is being released today at The Lilypad- so go grab it up and make your own cheesy goodness with it!! :)

Tuesday Freebie- Autumn Sparkle Elements

So- my first real kit is done- This is the last installment of Autumn Sparkle- the Elements.

Next week you'll likely see a very different style from me, as I've got a whole treasure trove of goodies that I've been learning to make and design, and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you!

I have to say- the response I've gotten to my goodies so far has astounded me- I'm so glad you're all enjoying them!! It makes me want to keep going and keep learning new things and designing more and more. So, thank you all my freebie download buddies- even if you're not leaving love, I see my count going up so thank you anyway- though comments are always appreciated!

My new favorite kit!

Last week I got an awesome invitation from Amy and Lauren from Polka Dot Plum Designs (as differs from the store- they own the store Polka Dot Plum- which uses their name- but they still design as Polka Dot Plum Designs, confusing but true!) to be on their Creative Team! I had a blast getting to goof off with them and the rest of the PDP designers Opening Week, and of course I had to say yes to that invitation! Luckily for me, it's a very laid back creative team (which as my creative team roster fills up yet again after I just pared it down- is a good thing! LOL) I just seem to keep getting offers I can't refuse!)

So I got to work with Sweet Little Claire- and I love this kit so SO much! It's absolutely my new favorite kit, most especially for my personal scrapbook pictures (as opposed to things I create solely for CT work- I tend to not show off too many of our very personal page) I had to share this one I did today though- Kat feeding the ducks at the park where her Grandpa is a policeman :) She had so much fun, and I had so much fun scrapping this and playing with this awesome kit that I just had to share! 2 of my favorite recent LO's are from this kit- if you're smart, you'll grab it and play with it too!

September Days Revamped

Michelle Batton has revamped her September Days kit, and it's on sale over at The Digichick right now :) I got to scrap some pictures of my first fall in Michigan with it- with the snow over the colored leaves (crazy weather LOL) and I'm loving the LO that happened. I just wish I'd have found a way to use that awesome alpha- it's so cool! I guess that's just call for me to do another LO- I also used her Inked Edges as well. And if you skedaddle over to her blog there's a freebie there waiting for you from Michelle!

Autumn Sparkle Papers Freebie

I created a set of papers, frames, and working now on some elements to go with the Autumn Sparkle Alpha I gave you all last week... so I'll be releasing those in increments as freebies over the next few weeks.

As a challenge to myself (to keep me designing and learning and trying to get better) I'm going to do my best to offer a new Freebie here every Tuesday. Why Tuesday? Because it's such a boring day, and it's good to have something to look forward to- at least until you make it to Friday to get everyone else's freebies :)

So this week your goodie happens to be the papers from my Autumn Sparkle set- they're my first papers, so enjoy :)

Autumn Sparkle Alpha Freebie

While the Geek's away... :)
I'm actually spending my day at the Renaissance Faire today doing a Pub Crawl in honor of my friend's birthday- but I've set my blog up to post this for you all today to enjoy while I'm not here to play with you! I'm sure at this moment I'm giggling into my cider and staring at kilted men :)

I'm experimenting more and more with what I design, and actually have a small stack of goodies to give away as freebies during the next few weeks. I'm finding the more I get my feet wet designing, the more I enjoy it and the more proud I am of my results! This is my very first alpha ever :) so enjoy!

Leave some love if you're liking what I do! It keeps me going :)

PDP Day 2 Ad- and some other stuff

So the 2nd day of Polka Dot Plum's Grand Opening is underway- lots of events happening- I've already participated in two! My LO's from those challenges are below.

This is going to sound a bit sappy and silly- but I feel SO at home at Polka Dot Plum. They have some of the sweetest, most supportive members- and I can already see a huge difference in my creativity levels- I'm producing things that I really adore! I can almost feel my creativity blossoming a bit. Yesterday evening in chat I showed a few folks some papers and doodles that I've done for a kit that I was just going to use for my pictures- but now I'm seriously thinking you may see it here as a freebie in a month or two. Coming to PDP was the right thing to do, it's such a great fit for me and I love it there!!

Okay now for some LO's :)

Beach Baby- I did this one for my first Speed Scrap ever- I still can't believe I'd never done one after all this time, but it was FUN! Suzy did a great job... and this was my result!
